Lots of coaches have come from a professional cycling background. They have always been fit and will know how to get you fit. They are very good at what they do but they lack something that I have.

You see, I haven't always been fit. I used to be a smoker and my weight was going in the wrong direction. The first time I got on a bike I literally couldn't ride a mile without stopping to catch my breath.

Thankfully, I kept at it and every day I was able to go a little further until one day I realised I could cycle for hours without stopping. This is when I fell in love with, not just cycling, but the ability for our bodies to adapt and become better through training and proper nutrition.

It was then I learned the science behind training and how our bodies adapt. This is when I really started to see big improvements.

I then started to teach some of my friends and they too saw massive improvements. This is when I knew that I wanted to be a cycling coach.

I have since become an ultra distance cyclist competing in ultra distance events such as the Donegal 555 and Mile Failte 1200 and numerous Audax events.

Coaches are not just for elite performing cyclists. They are here to improve your current fitness level to get you from where you are now to where you want to be. The only difference is with me, you know you're getting a coach that knows what it's like to start from the bottom. And I know what it's like to try to fit training in around work and family life.

It can all be done.
